A method for identifying the main frequency power train of a wind turbine. The invention also relates to a method of vibration damping power train of a wind turbine comprising steps of fixing the torque reference generator (Tr {sub, ref}) based on the generator speed ({og }) and the main frequency power train unit (f) identified by said method and a control system of a wind turbine implementing it.
