IN VITRO RECONSTITUTION OF SEGMENTED NEGATIVE-STRAND RNA VIRUSES

There is disclosed a method for generating in cultured cells infectious viralparticles of a segmented negative-strand virus by an entirely vector-basedsystem without the aid of a helper virus. The method may, for example, beparticularly useful for producing modified influenza viruses.
