A flue gas control system of a coal combustion boileraccording to the present invention includes: an HClatomizer (32) that sprays hydrogen chloride (33) to fluegas from a coal combustion boiler (11) that uses coal as afuel (F); NO x removing apparatus (13) that removes nitrogenoxides by ammonia denitration by adding ammonia (12) to theflue gas after spraying hydrogen chloride and oxidizesmercury; an air preheater (14) that recovers heat in thegas after removal of nitrogen oxides; a precipitator (15)that removes particulates in the gas; an activated carbonatomizer (22) that sprays activated carbon (22a) into thegas after particulate collection; a bag filter (21) thatcollects activated carbon having adsorbed mercury; adesulfurizer (16) that removes sulfur oxides in the fluegas after removal of activated carbon; a stack (17) thatdischarges the gas which has undergone desulfurization tooutside; and an meter (19) that measures an oxidationreduction potential for feeding air to a slurry absorbentin the desulfurizer (16).
