Disclosed are a method and an arrangement for modelling antenna emission characteristics. A slotted microwave waveguide is formed by separate mechanical modules (4; 11; 20) with slot groups formed therein. To this end, the modules are arranged along at least one first spatial direction such that the modules (4; 11; 20) sectionally form part of the boundary of the waveguide. The waveguide formed can be fed by excitation of a waveguide mode and the mode propagates through the interior of the modules in the waveguide formed. Screens (5; 13; 25) are arranged in front of the modules so as to partially cover the slot groups. It is possible for any desired emission characteristics to be reproduced, wherein no separate supply network is necessary owing to utilization of a modular waveguide.
