The invention provides a webpage reading method based on a mobile terminal, and the method comprises the following steps: loading corresponding current webpage contents and displaying the contents on the basis of an input URL; checking so as to judge whether an obtained HTML file or a DOM comprises pre-read keywords when loading the current webpage contents; judging whether the percentage of the current displayed contents in the entire current webpage contents reaches or exceeds a pre-set threshold value if the pre-read keywords exist; pre-reading and caching the next webpage content on the basis of the URL which correlates with the pre-read keywords if the pre-set threshold value is reached or exceeded; and displaying the next webpage content if the pre-set condition of displaying next webpage content is satisfied. The webpage reading method can be used for pre-reading the next webpage contents before all of the current webpage contents are displayed and promptly pre-reading the next webpage contents as long as the reading of the current webpage contents is completed, thereby omitting the time spent in waiting for reading the next webpage content so as to improve the reading experience of a user.
