Disclosed are a method, a device, and a remote control for controlling a mechanical arm of engineering machinery. The method comprises: determining a control starting direction of a mechanical arm; receiving information of an operating direction during a remote control operation on the mechanical arm; determining a remote control drive direction according to the angle between the control starting direction and the operating direction; and outputting information of the remote control drive direction to a drive mechanism of engineering machinery. By means of the method, an operator of a remote control can intuitively operate a mechanical arm according to the current location of the operator, so the operating manner is convenient.
