A hearing aid suitability determination device (100) that determines suitability, including information regarding whether a test subject is able to pick up sounds clearly by means of a binaural hearing aid, is equipped with: a hearing ability information input unit (103a) that receives hearing ability information for the test subject; a hearing ability type determination unit (105) that, on the basis of the frequency characteristic of the hearing ability information, determines which of multiple hearing ability types corresponds to the hearing ability information; a suitability determination unit (106a) that, on the basis of the hearing ability type determined by the hearing ability type determination unit (105), determines the suitability with respect to the test subject's binaural hearing aid; and a suitability presentation unit (108) that presents the suitability that has been determined by the suitability determination unit (106a). The suitability determination unit (106a) references correspondence relationships which indicate for each speech sound in each of the multiple hearing ability types the amount of improvement in intelligibility, which is the degree to which the intelligibility of speech sounds perceived by the test subject are improved by the binaural hearing aid, and thus the suitability determination unit determines the suitability on the basis of the amount of improvement in the intelligibility of each speech sound corresponding to the hearing ability type determined by the hearing ability type determination unit (105).
