A plurality of power consumption units, for instance a plurality of greenhouses/hothouses, is heated by exploiting the heat generated by the condensation of the low-pressure discharge steam flowing out of an electric energy generator equipped with a steam turbine, said heat being distributed to the power consumption units by means of a remote heating plant which includes a water-cooled condenser (10) arranged in parallel with an air condenser (8). The plant is also provided with a control system/device for indirectly adjusting the temperature inside the greenhouses, by means of the regulation of the steam flow rate passing through the water-cooled condenser (10), the regulation of the pump rate of the water circulation pumps (27) located in the main distribution circuit, etc.
