The invention concerns a biomarker for diagnosing or prognosing childhood Membranous Nephropathy (MN), said biomarker is (i) cationic Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA), and/or (ii) an antibody that binds to a polypeptide of sequence SEQ ID NO: 3. The invention further concerns an antibody or antibody fragment or a composition comprising such an antibody or antibody fragment, wherein said antibody or antibody fragment is specific to an amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 3. The invention also concerns a foodstuff likely to contain BSA or cow milk or cow milk extracts, wherein said foodstuff is depleted in BSA.
