A maximum power point tracking method for self-adaptive disturbance frequency and step length of a solar photovoltaic cell. The maximum power point tracking method includes: after each disturbance, starting to calculate the power difference before and after disturbance after it is judged that the output voltage of a photovoltaic cell enters a stable state so as to ensure the accuracy of power change direction judgment; accumulating the power difference to accurately obtain the direction in which the power changes after each disturbance; adjusting the disturbance step length in real time according to the time taken to accumulate the power difference to a reference value; and adjusting the reference value of the power accumulation value in real time according to the magnitude of the output power of the photovoltaic cell. The maximum power point tracking method can track the maximum power point rapidly and accurately, and the disturbance frequency and disturbance step length are minimum near the maximum power point, effectively avoiding power loss caused by disturbance.
