The method involves arranging nozzle beams (12, 13) above and/or below a strip running plane, where the beams comprise blowing nozzles (14) and symmetrically-arranged beam elements. A rolled strip (5) is blown by hot compressed air or hot gaseous pressure medium by using the nozzles for absorption of rolling oil or other liquid operating medium, and the amount of the air and/or medium applied to upper and/or lower sides of the strip is controlled. Temperature of the air and/or the medium is controlled based on speed of the strip and/or thickness of the strip and/or the strip material. An independent claim is also included for a device for blowing a rolled strip by using air or gaseous medium on a strip outlet side of a rolling mill.
