A method for power saving and interference mitigation or avoidance within a cellular networks including at least one femto base station, wherein said femto base station goes in idle mode (2), whenever no mobile station is detected or managed thereby, characterized by shutting down all radio emission from the femto base station and remaining listening to reactivation requests (5).
