The vase comprises: an inlet opening (212); an outlet opening (215); pumping means (229) for pumping water around, between said inlet and outlet opening (212;215), along a radiation assembly (206) and/or a filtering assembly (204). The vase comprises furthermore control means (208) for controlling, for example, the pump rate of the pumping means (229) and for monitoring the lifetime or malfunction of the components, thereby enhancing the system's safety, and helping to prolong the lifetime and/or blooming quality of flowers contained in the vase.
