The method involves determining angle of traverse partly under consideration of a tangential forecast with a tangent at a lane delimitation of a curve inner side, which cuts pre-determined point of reference of a motor vehicle, particularly position of a driver, and determining an associated point of tangent (18), from which the angle of traverse is determined. A satellite-based position sensor, particularly a Global positioning systemsensor, is used for determination of position information or direction of travel information. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle.
