A three-dimensional image projector (1A) comprises: a diverting optical system (10A) including a plate-shaped first optical member (11) having an emitting surface (11r) and an incident surface (11p) on which image light (L) is incident, the first optical member for diverting the travel direction (C1) of the image light (L) so that the emitting surface (11r) and the emission direction (C1) of image light (L) at the emitting surface (11r) form a predetermined angle; a rotational drive unit (20) for rotationally driving the diverting optical system (10A) along the emitting surface (11r) using a predetermined point on the emitting surface (11r) as the center of rotation; and an image projection unit (30A) erected along a rotational axis (RA) that includes the center of rotation, for diverting the travel direction (C1) of the image light (L) emitted from the diverting optical system (10A) to a first direction along a plane that intersects with the rotational axis (RA), and scattering the image light (L) emitted from the diverting optical system (10A) in a second direction along the rotational axis (RA).
