Provided is a guide image generating apparatus in which an image capturing means, such as a camera or the like, captures an image of a part including a display unit of a mobile terminal, such as a smart phone, a mobile telephone or the like. A generating means analyzes a guide image included in the captured image, thereby extracting some information to be used for the guide of a mobile body such as a vehicle or the like, thereby generating a head-up display guide image. The generated head-up display guide image is displayed on a head-up display mounted on the mobile body. In this way, a guide image suitable for a head-up display is generated, on the basis of a guide image displayed on a mobile terminal, and is displayed on the head-up display.
