A system and a process for determining and analysing surface property parameters of a substance based on a kinetic method. The system comprises a sample treatment system including a reactor (3), a collector for the liquid to be tested (5) and a container for the liquid to be tested (6), and a detection system including detecting electrodes (13), an operator for concentration and activity, a processor for kinetic data, an operating module for surface properties and a results outputting module. The method treats the substance to be tested with an electrolyte solution, measures the activity of the liquid to be tested after the reaction at a pre-set interval, and processes the data with the processor for kinetic data and the operating module for surface properties, so as to obtain the surface property parameters of the substance to be tested. The present invention employs a kinetic method of ion exchange to overcome the difficulties in the test procedure of having a long reaction equilibrium time, and the difficulty in determining the equilibrium and calibrating the value of m accurately. The five parameters representing the surface properties of a substance can be calculated from only two parameters, i.e. the intercept and gradient of the linear regression equation obtained from the kinetic data, and the total amount of charge on the surface can also be determined directly.
