The present invention relates to a method for integrating a differential phase image comprising steps of: obtaining a differential phase image using digital differential holographic microscopy, for which image an object to be analysed is placed in front of the interferometer; obtaining a bright field image of the object; from said bright field image, determining regions of the differential phase image that are not disturbed by the object; attributing a preset phase value to said regions that are not disturbed by the object; numerically integrating the differential phase image from the edges of the image assuming an arbitrary constant of integration for these edges in order to obtain a raw phase image; and correcting the raw phase image by subtracting a continuous function such that the value of the corrected phase image in the object-free regions takes the preset phase value.
