A dust suppressant composition and a method for suppressing dust particularly on roads, the dust suppressant composition having a liquid portion with a tackiness sufficient to bind dirt particles together, along with hydrocarbon degrading microbes which in crease the polymeric content of the composition in the presence of an added polymer, and improve the dust suppressant capability.
