The invention relates to a method for treating industrial or urban wastewater, for reuse of at least one fraction of said wastewater. According to said method, wastewater is subjected to the following consecutive steps: biological treatment in a bioreactor (6); physical separation (7) of the effluent leaving the biological treatment; reverse osmosis or nanofiltration treatment (10) of a portion of the filtered water, the permeate being sent for reuse after optional complementary treatment. The method comprises a single reverse osmosis or nanofiltration stage, and the concentrate (16) of the reverse osmosis or nanofiltration stage is subjected to an oxidation step (17) then returned to the biological treatment entrance (6).
