Provided are a control method that controls electrical instruments such as lighting fixtures inexpensively and simply in various operating states, an electrical instrument, and a timer device. This control method for electrical instruments is constituted such that the operating state of an electrical instrument can be changed in accordance with a prescribed control sequence set in a timer device by connecting the electrical instrument, which is constituted such that the operating state can be changed by a control sequence that instantaneously turns a power supply off, to a commercial power supply via the timer device that can set the output instantaneously off or on/off at any set time in accordance with a control sequence for the electrical instrument.
