Disclosed are a fire fighting apparatus and a fire fighting method for an electrical control room. The apparatus employs downward air extraction to ensure ventilation and cooling of the electrical control room systems. A fire fighting post is provided in a power distribution cabinet, and a fire hood is provided outside the power distribution cabinet. Having a double layer of protection, the apparatus can be widely used in fire fighting arrangements for electrical control rooms, improving the safety environment for use of electrical control systems. Industrialization, standardization, general utilization, series production and installation, and new construction and renovation are all achievable therewith.
