Method for displaying additional digital information incorporated in E-shop pages of Internet-based e-shop systems, comprising a client system which manages the additional information and is connected to the e—shop system via a network. - A setting which defines how often, in which period and/or on which e-shop systems the additional information is intended to be displayed is stored on the client system; - after a network connection has been set up between a terminal and the e—shop system, a session ID, which can be used to uniquely identify the terminal during the session and is transmitted for identification purposes each time the e—shop system communicates with the client system with respect to the terminal, is requested by the e—shop system from the client system; - for each product request made by the terminal from the e—shop system, product identifiers, in particular GTIN, are transmitted from the e—shop system to the client system in conjunction with the session ID; - the additional information is determined by the client system on the basis of the session ID and the product identifiers taking into account the stored setting, the additional information determined, in particular links to the additional information, is transmitted to the e—shop system and the additional information transmitted is stored as tracking data for subsequent processing; - the additional information, in particular the links to the additional information, is embedded by the e-shop system in the e—shop page using an element for requesting and integrating additional digital information.
