The invention relates to a textile sheet material, suitable as material for protective clothing against fault arcs, that fulfills the standards IEC 61482-1-1:2009 and/or IEC 61482-1-2: 2007 7 kA and/or DIN EN ISO 11611:2008 class 2. The sheet material comprises a first woven fabric and a second woven fabric connected to the first woven fabric, the warp and/or weft threads of which comprise aramide threads, aramide yarns, or aramide filament threads or threads made of mixed fibers, which contain polybenzimidazole fibers, polyamide imide fibers, and/or aramide fibers. The textile sheet material has a weight per unit area of less than 480 g/m², at least some of the warp thread lifts of the first woven fabric face the second woven fabric and represent connections (1) of the first woven fabric to the second woven fabric, and said connections (1) are not arranged adjacent to each other.
