Disclosed are aqueous size compositions for inorganic fibers which is based on a specific polymeric film former composition comprisingA) at least one low molecular weight polyvinylacetate and/or at least one middle molecular weight polyvinylacetate, andB) at least one low viscosity partially hydrolysed polyvinyl alcoholC) the weight ratio of A) to B) is between 0.5 and 3.0.;Also disclosed are fiber strands and fibers having such a sizing thereon, and their use for making hydraulic set board comprising a hydraulic set cement or gypsum core and reinforcing inorganic fibers coated with the dried sizing compostion of the invention.
