Provided is an ultrasound device which starts collection of sub-volume data at a predetermined time after a prescribed phase while switching the sub-volume to be scanned for each heartbeat, subjects the sub-volume data collected in mutually different diagnostic periods to composite processing to generate either composite sub-volume data formed from a plurality of sub-volume data or the full-volume data, detects for either a period change in the heartbeat signal of the subject and/or a plurality of changes in the sub-volume data collected in the one diagnostic period, and subjects the sub-volume data to composite-processing on the basis of the detection results.
