Disclosed is a segment dividing method for a cylindrical deep-sea drilling platform basement built based on a semi-submersible barge. The method includes the following steps: dividing the cylindrical deep-sea drilling platform basement into N sector-shaped columns symmetrically and equally in the circumferential direction from top to bottom, where N is an integer; dividing each sector-shaped column into n quadrilateral columns from top to bottom in the direction of the radius of the sector-shaped column, where n is an integer and the dividing is such that the top-to-bottom projection areas of the quadrilateral columns are the same; and each quadrilateral column is one segment of the cylindrical deep-sea drilling platform basement. The segment dividing method enables minimization of the total number nN of the segments of the basement, reducing the number of hoisting the segments and improving the segment building efficiency of the cylindrical deep-sea drilling platform basement. All the segments have straight weld seams, so that workers perform construction at a high speed, and deformation of the weld seams can be controlled easily. By contrast to arc weld seams, there is no need for specialized welding equipment, and the economic benefits of plants are increased.
