The device has portion which is arranged with arc-shaped profile of the cryostat holder (2) for holding the cryostat (1). The holder is movably guided in perpendicular state with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cryostat. The holder is guided on rail (4), in a state running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cryostat. An independent claim is included for method for cooling cryostat.
