The element according to the invention, the system, and the method allow a fastening point for a rail to be easily and economically renovated in such a way that a permanently reliable function of the renovated fastening is then ensured again while the worn support section remains. This is achieved in that the base plate (11) has at least two longitudinal edge sections (13, 14), which are arranged at a distance from each other and which are bevelled in the direction of the lower face (15) of the base plate associated with the support section (4) or in the direction of the upper face of the base plate (11) associated with the rail foot (SF), and of which one longitudinal edge section (13, 14) is associated with one of the longitudinal sides of the crosstie (2) so that one of the longitudinal edge sections (13, 14) extends along a longitudinal side of the crosstie (2) when the base plate (11) is finally installed on the crosstie (2).
