System and method for automatically locating objects removably positioned in predefined locations, using active RFID tags

The system has a set of radio frequency identification markers (M), where each marker is identified by a single identifier (ID M). Each marker is fixed to an object (EI) e.g. server, to be located. Each marker is arranged with an electronic detection unit for detection of electromagnetic activation radiation e.g. infrared signal. A radio frequency emission unit is arranged distinct from the electronic detection unit. An electronic localization unit (Cl 1) is designed to automatically locate the marker using position of emission of radiation, and the identifier after emission of the radiation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for localization of objects (2) an object assembly.
