The device has a remote controller (F), a safety-path computer and an operating-path computer attached to a group of processing stations (G1). A common signal transmitter initiates an adjustment process of components when operating a switch (S1) on the printing material processing machine (5) and when operating the remote controller. The signal transmitter is provided as the switch of the processing stations group. An optical signal is displayed when a movement of the adjustment process reaches a predetermined target position. The stations are selected from an alignment station (4), a pre-folding station (6), an additional alignment station (10), a processing station (13) and a folding station (14).
