MULTI-VIEW DISTRIBUTED VIDEO CODEC AND SIDE INFORMATION GENERATION METHOD ON FOREGROUND SEGMENTATION

PURPOSE: A distribution video codec apparatus and a sub information generating method using the same are provided to reduce complexity of encoding by including a sub information generating unit into an encoding unit. CONSTITUTION: A PDWZ(Pixel-Domain Wyner-Ziv) encoding unit encodes a WQ frame and a key frame. A PDWZ encoding unit(40) is connected with the PDWZ encoding unit. The PDWZ decoding unit decodes the WZ frame and the key frame. A sub information generating unit(30) of the PDWZ decoding unit separates a foreground and a background from the encoded image frame. The sub information generating unit generates sub information in consideration of the foreground and the background.
