PURPOSE: A condenser failure detection system and a method thereof are provided to easily detect a broken condenser by installing a current measuring circuit.;CONSTITUTION: A condenser failure detection apparatus(200) comprises a signal receiver(210), a measuring part(220), a controller(230), an alarm display part(240), and a communications part(250). The signal receiver receives a synchronization signal from an automatic power factor control device(100). The current measuring part measures three-phase-current of an incoming main-line. The controller determines failure of a condenser by comparing the three-phase-current with set current. The controller output an opening and closing signal of the condenser by controlling the automatic power factor control device when the condenser is normal. The alarm display part indicates the failure of the condenser in a display window and outputs an alarm signal to outside.
