PURPOSE: An adaptive message transmission method in a vehicle ad-hoc network and apparatus thereof are provided to reduce transmission delay time by determining a delay value based on a distance between a transmission node and a remote node. CONSTITUTION: A node includes a communication unit(700), a delay value determination unit(702), a timer unit(704), a retransmission determination unit(706), a neighbor node table storage unit(708), and a message generator(710). The delay value determination unit determines an adaptive delay value based on the longest distance information of the received message. The retransmission determination unit determines the retransmission of the received message. When the retransmission of the message is necessary, the message creation unit creates messages for the retransmission by terminating a waiting state.
