PURPOSE: A method for authenticating a user using a coordinate region and a password and a recording medium on which a program therefor is recorded are provided to obtain double security by determining the identity between preset secret key matching information and inputted authentication matching information.;CONSTITUTION: A secret key setting request signal including a secret key value and a coordinate area value is inputted through a key input area and a coordinate area. An authentication information matching part generates secret key matching information according to the secret key setting request signal. An authentication request signal including the secret key value and the coordinate area value is inputted. The authentication information matching part generates the authentication matching information. An authentication information determining part determines the identity between the secret key matching information and the authentication matching information. The authentication information determining unit generates a user authentication acknowledgement signal.
