PURPOSE: A remote control apparatus and multimedia apparatus including the same are provided to enable a user to directly control various applications of a GUI(Graphic User Interface) environment using a touch screen included in the remote control apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(12) receives a first image signal from a multimedia apparatus. The communication unit transmits a control signal which controls the multimedia apparatus to the multimedia apparatus. A touch screen(11) displays a screen using the received first image signal. The touch screen receives a touch input signal. A control unit(13) creates the control signal using the touch input signal.
