PURPOSE: A vehicle surrounding view generating method is provided to correct a distortion image by moving a selection area of the image to a correction position through a polygon mapping method.;CONSTITUTION: A reference coordinate value for each cross point of a grid pattern is set(S20). A reference image is generated(S30). An edge of a check board pattern is detected from a distortion image generated by photographing the check board pattern(S50). A correction sequence for estimated compensation points is selected(S60). The distortion image is divided into plural distortion polygons(S70). Each pixel coordinate of the distortion image is mapped with reference pixel coordinates(S80).
