PURPOSE: A hybrid control technique for series resonance converter for controlling optimized operation is provided to generate first and second gate control signals to open and close first and second switches, thereby controlling optimized operation under either a normal condition or a light load condition. CONSTITUTION: An inverter circuit generates an AC(Alternating Current) signal from a DC(Direct Current) input signal. A transformer circuit converts an AC signal to a sine wave AC signal. The second stage circuit rectifies the sine wave AC signal and sends it as a DC output signal. A hybrid control circuit modulates the first and the second gate control signals. The modulation includes PFM(Pulse Frequency Modulation) and PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) operations.
