PURPOSE: A thick plate aligning apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to prevent a collision and reduce failures during transporting of thick plates by sensing meandering and aligning the thick plates.;CONSTITUTION: A thick plate aligning apparatus comprises a stopper(80) which blocks the proceeding of a thick plate(90) transferred by a roller transfer device(50), a front displacement sensor(10) which measures the distance to the front side of the thick plate, a plurality of side displacement sensors(20,30) which measures the distance to the lateral sides of the stopped thick plate, and a control unit which stops the thick plate at the stopper by the front displacement sensor, determines the aligned state of the thick plate with the plurality of displacement sensors, and additionally moves and aligns the thick plate.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
