The present invention relates to a display system , in one embodiment the device is a display panel , the wavelength conversion material and provided with a light source . The display panel has an interface for receiving a control signal defining one or more key images to be projected from itself. Wavelength converting material absorbs light of a first wavelength and emitting light of a second wavelength . The wavelength converting material may define a secondary image that is projected from the display panel when illuminated by the light of the first wavelength. The light source may be a wavelength converting material irradiated by the light of the first wavelength .
