PURPOSE: A timing offset estimating method and an apparatus using the same in a multiple path fading channel are provided to estimate timing offset of each signal component by controlling the variation of a signal path component. CONSTITUTION: A timing offset of an input signal estimates an OFDM terminal through a first estimation step(130) and a second estimation step(150) estimating a timing spot of a signaling path. A first timing offset is estimated by using a first function. A second timing offset and a first timing matrix are calculated by using a second function. A standard deviation of the first timing matrix is calculated by using a third function.
