PURPOSE: A gabion retaining wall using a mesh panel assembly and a construction method thereof are provided to conveniently and quickly implement retaining wall construction by stone filling at the cutting area of a weak ground or that of a bedrock.;CONSTITUTION: Plural longitudinal wires(101) and plural transverse wires(102) are repeatedly coupled into a lattice shape on plural unit mesh panels(100). The unit mesh panel(100) is formed into the mat of a netlike structure. A part of the mat is bent. An auxiliary mesh panel(200) is installed at the inner side of the front wall portion of the unit mesh panel(100). A rear covering mesh panel(300) is installed at the rear of the bottom surface of the unit mesh panel(100). The rear covering mesh panel(300) is formed into a network structure.
