METHOD FOR DETERMINING INFORMATION INDICATING A POSITION OF A REAL TOOTH ON A TOOTH TARGET FIRMLY ATTACHED TO A SHAFT OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND A RELATED DEVICE, CAPABLE OF CERTAINLY DETERMINING A POSITION OF A TOOTH-SHAPED UNIT OF A TOOTH TARGET EVEN THOUGH THE SPEED OF THE ENGINE IS SUDDENLY CHANGED
PURPOSE: A method for determining information indicating a position of a real tooth on a tooth target firmly attached to shaft of an internal combustion engine and a related device are provided to easily distinguish three kinds of tooth-shaped units as a rate of the tooth-shaped unit of a rank 1 is different from a rate of the tooth-shaped unit of a rank 2 and from a rate of the tooth-shaped unit of a bigger rank.;CONSTITUTION: A method for determining information indicating a position of a real tooth on a tooth target firmly attached in rotating for a shaft of an internal combustion engine is as follows. A cycle (T(k-N/2)) of a k-N/2 tooth-shaped unit is multiplied by N times so that a first product is calculated. The N is 2 or an even number exceeding 2. A cycle (T(k-i)) of a tooth-shaped unit i is multiplied so that a second product is calculated. The i is within a range of 0 to (N/2-1) and (N/2+1) to N. An R'(k) which is a rate of the first and second products is calculated. The information indicating a position of a tooth-shaped unit k in a reference area is determined based on the R'(k).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
