PURPOSE: A method and a system capable of monitoring a synchronizing device are provided to produce a wound line degradation indicator based on the distinguished resonant frequency and the expected resonant frequency.;CONSTITUTION: A signal generator injects a narrow band sinusoidal signal in a field magnet terminal of the field magnet wound line(310). A monitoring module(320) monitors the voltage at the counter terminal of the ground.
