PURPOSE: An optical communication device with a dual transmitting/receiving function is provided to connect one port to an optical receiving end and another port to an optical transmitting end.;CONSTITUTION: A first optical transmitting/receiving unit(10) transmits and receives an optical signal through a first port. A second optical transmitting/receiving unit(20) transmits and receives the optical signal through a second port. When at least one of the first optical transmitting/receiving unit and the second optical transmitting/receiving unit receives the optical signal, a control unit(30) operates the one which receives the optical signal for optical transmission. The control unit operates another one for optical reception. A connection unit(40) connects the one to an optical receiving end according to the control by the control unit.
