PURPOSE: A device for performing a random access process in a multi-component carrier system and a method thereof are provided to terminate the random access process in the middle of progress and to prevent a collision between random access processes in different serving cells.;CONSTITUTION: A random access processing unit(1410) determines the satisfaction of a middle termination condition for terminating a current random access process. If the middle termination condition is satisfied, the random access processing unit unsuccessfully terminates the current random access process. A terminal receiving unit(1405) receives a random access start commander from a base station. The random access start commander commands the start of a new random access process related to a second serving cell.
