PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a display device are provided to additionally arrange a light source module in an edge of a lower part of a light guide plate, thereby reducing a dark area of an edge of an upper part of the light guide plate.;CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(90) includes one or more first grooves(92,94) and one or more second grooves(96,98). A first groove is formed inside an edge of a lower part of the light guide plate. A second groove is formed at an edge of the lower part of the light guide plate.
