PURPOSE: A time reference selecting method and an apparatus thereof are provided to be stably operated with a synchronized clock and to provide the synchronized clock to another equipment using an AGPS(Assisted Global Positioning System).;CONSTITUTION: An interrupt process(110) reads a hardware time using an AGPS synchronizing signal. A converter(120) forms AGPS time data by converting the AGPS synchronizing signal into a time stamp type in order to compare the AGPS synchronizing signal with the clock of an optimal master. A packet processor(130) extracts PTP time data from a PTP clock included in a PTP(Packet Timing Protocol) broadcast message transmitted in the optimal master. An optimal master selector(160) selects an optimal master providing a clock having the highest quality index among PTP masters.
