PURPOSE: A radar device and a method for detecting a target of the radar device are provided to increase accuracy and reliability of the target information by reducing generation frequency of a false target by extracting distance and relative speed of the target by matching received signals.;CONSTITUTION: A transmission part transmits radar signals as a modulation signal whose frequency varies according to time(S710). A receiving part receives the radar signal(S720). An amplitude measurement part measures amplitude of a plurality of radar signals received for one modulation signal(S730). Completion in up-modulation section, down-modulation section and continuous wave modulation section is judged(S740). If all sections are not completed, S710 or S730 step is repeated.
