PURPOSE: A grid-connected photovoltaic power generating apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to drive a grid relay comprised in an input stage of the system by detecting a leakage current flowing in the system. CONSTITUTION: An inverter(20) converts an input voltage of a DC power supply into an AC voltage, and supplies the AC voltage to the system. A leakage current detection unit(30) is comprised in an input stage of the system, and detects a leakage current. A control unit(100) drives the inverter on the ground of the leakage current.
